"Is spongebob
for little kids only?" This question keeps spinning on my head.
Huge dilemma. Why, despite the fact it designed for little kids,
older people enjoy it? My first thought is you can always be a little
kid on the inside. But this thought is wrong. Does a kid show refers
to "Jaws" movie? Today I am going to give an end. Let's
talk with facts.
This cartoon is
truly unique. It has dark humor and even some intelligent jokes. The
stories never end where you think they will. This doesn't mean it is
really too complicated though. Simply, the stories aren't too deep or
mind-engaging. An adult full of stress, like my father for example,
usually watches an episode before bed every day, to get rid of the
excess anxiety. And if you are curious if my father really watches
SpongeBob SquarePants before sleep, yes he does!
There is lots of
"kid-stuff comedy" in SpongeBob, I have to confess. On the
other hand, there are many funny, awkward situations and jokes that
only an adult can understand. You will even references to
pop-culture events.
The
stories mainly include "adult" sea characters. There is an
evil capitalist (Plankton), a greed restaurant owner (Crab), a doped
athlete (Larry the lobster) and a Texas karate master squirrel
(Sandy). Nevertheless, Bob and Patrick are the victims of this
society. They are pure, with no evil on them. They are ready to help
anyone and do the right thing. Anyone in the Bikini Bottom exploits
them. I can compare them to the fabulous role of "Forest Gump".
I finally did it. I
got a clear answer. Kids will enjoy the "easy comedy stuff",
while adults and teens will enjoy more complicated jokes. Share your
